18 girls freed from hell
Through the informants of our partner organization STOP in Delhi (who with hidden cameras, "visits" the brothels of India) we knew that a minor girl of only 13 years called Megha, was forcibly trapped in a cage of 1 by 2 meters from a brothel in Delhi. Megha was kidnapped seven months ago in Nepal, tortured and sold to a brothel owner in India (2700 km away from home!) and forced into prostitution.
She was raped daily by at least twenty "men/clients". Megha told our informant that here and in the adjacent brothels more underage girls were present, who, like her were trapped and suffered from severe torture, pain and anguish.
Professor Roma, head of Stop made an appointment with the head of justice and asked him for help to free Megha and the other underage girls. She asked him not to share this information with the local police station in the red light district.
This is due to the fact that in the past, a rescue operation failed by leaking information. This indicates that local police go hand in hand with the local mafia and pimps. After listening to all this, the head assured us that his own trusted police officers will be involved here and that the Station House Officer (SHO) Jeet Kaur Mrs. Surender will be involved, who is known for her honesty. The time for the rescue operation was set at 19.30. Our informant was asked to visit the brothel and Megha "should be booked" from 18.45 hours. Meanwhile, all the agents met at MFC Central Office in New Delhi. They were briefed and divided into three groups. Each group consisted of six male officers, one female, one inspector and two employees of STOP. At 19.15, five police cars, all in civilian dress, from DCP office were sent to the brothel to encircle it. After reaching the GB Road (largest red light district in Delhi) they took place near the main entrance, the middle entrance and roof of the brothel to block all possible routes.
Rigyalmo (which was freed by our president six years ago, and today is staff /employee of liberation STOP) went with the police in and embraced Megha so no one could separate them. Inspector Vikram Jeet Singh and Mrs Surender Jeet Singh Kaur took them down to a police car which was waiting with the engine running. As she left the brothel, local thugs and pimps tried to hinder their way, because this was "a rare case," because no prior information of a rescue operation had been given (by corrupt police).
Megha was dressed very pitiful. Rigyalmo gave Megha, who was shivering with fear, a blanket to cover her. Thanks to information from Megha simultaneously were conducted raids in other brothels. 17 underage girls had been rescued. During the raids, three women (people smugglers) and two pimps were arrested. All the rescued girls have reported to the magistrate.
The criminals are now in custody and will be further prosecuted. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has decided to direct the girls to our STOP Family House (shelter funded entirely by PTN) to send for a safe stay and care. STOP has informed all the family / parents of the girls in Nepal and will soon be transferred to our shelter in Nepal where they will be reunited with their families. In our shelter they receive from PTN the opportunity to study or follow a vocational training (cook, hairdresser / beautician, driver training, etc.) to look forward to an independent and dignified future!
Thanks to your donations this year 108 girls were freed!
